2002 Acura TL How to Clear a Check Engine Light

Your 2002 Acura TL will display a "check-engine" light when there is a problem with the various sensors. The check-engine light means that the onboard diagnostic (OBD) system on your TL has generated and stored a trouble code. The trouble codes can be read by a diagnostic scan tool, but when you're done getting the information you need, you need to clear the codes on your TL or the check-engine light will stay lit. 2 Locate the open OBD access port to the left of the main fuse panel. It's a rectangular connector.
3 Plug the OBD scan tool plug into the access port and turn on the ignition (but don't start the engine). Then, turn on the scan tool.
4 Press the "clear" button on the scan tool and wait for the check-engine light to shut off. Some scan tools will display "all codes cleared" on the display screen, some will not.
